Hello everyone.

For some time, when running a web application in Chrome and after a very short time of inactivity (approximately 30 seconds), the browser suddenly and unexpectedly closes without giving any warning. This does not happen with other browsers.

Has this happened to someone else? What could it be?

I am using PB 2019 R2 and PS 2020.

Hi Miguel;

  Does the Web App use any Window Timer Event or "Timing" objects that would kick in around the 30 second mark? If so, maybe that might account for the App crashing on a PB command. Anything in the local Web log or the PowerServer logs that might be pointing to an issue?

Regards ... Chris

I too am having kinda similar issues with Chrome starting roughly a month or so ago. If you have multiple tabs open in Chrome, if you leave your Appeon powerserver app on a non-active for a few minutes or so (way shorter then our web timeout settings) and then come back, it is entirely blank. Refresh just restarts the app. There are no timers on the page and we're pb 2017 on powerserver. We've had multiple reports from our end users. I know Chromium Edge recently added a "sleeping tabs" feature and while this phenomenom is happening on Chrome, I'm wondering if the new sleeping feature was inherited from the Chrome engine upon which Edge is based.

Hi Miguel,

Do other applications have the same issue when left idle in Chrome? It seems a PB code related issue. Please do some checking according to Chris’s reply.

If there is still the issue, please open a support ticket in the support portal in the link below and please provide a test case there as well. Many thanks in advance!
