Hi guys,

I am completely new to Powerbuilder and I want to follow the self-guided tutorial on Appeon's website.

It requires me to download SQL Anywhere 17, which I have done, and get the EAS Demo db vnn example database that comes along with SQL Anywhere. The problem is, I can't find the directory and it hasn't automatically appeared on my ODBC.

Does the database need to be added to the ODBC and is the tutorial still relevant, as I am using a version of PB 2021?

Thanks

Oh, is the Powerbuilder 2021 tutorial DB the same one as referred into in the intro video (as in, the name changed)?

Hi Oscar;

 The basic PB IDE will install the "Demo DB" as part of its installation process as long as it sees that you have SA already installed beforehand.

  If not, you can just ...

A) uninstall PB 2021 & then reinstall it paying attention to the "Options" tab on the installer.

https://docs.appeon.com/pb2021/installation_guide_for_pb/Installing_PowerBuilder_demo_applications_and_database.html

// Or

B) install the Demo DB from GitHub, as follows:

https://github.com/Appeon/PowerBuilder-Project-Example-Database

HTH

Regards ... Chris
