I just gave a demo of SnapDevelop to management and they liked it. They do have questions.

What version of .Net Core? I see for SD 2019 it says .Net Core 3.1, what about SD 2021?

Does the PowerScript converter handle structure objects or structures built into an NVO?

We currently use SQL Server 2016 or higher depending on the customer. What are the SQL Server version requirements?

If the C# code is running on Linux, can it use SQL Server running on Windows?

Hi Roland,

I'll try to answer your questions in order:

1. That is correct, SnapDevelop 2019 uses .NET Core 3.1. Support for .NET 6 is planned for SnapDevelop 2022. You can check the future roadmap for our products here.

2. Structure conversion is, in fact, supported. Here's a more complete list of the features PowerScript Migrator offers.

3. SnapDevelop 2019 R3 currently support SQL Server versions 2016, 2017, or 2019. You can check the detailed system requirements here.

4. There shouldn't be any problem connecting to a SQL Server instance on Windows. Even Windows Authentication is supported as per Microsoft's Documentation. That said, the easier way is connecting through TCP with the SQL Authentication scheme.

I hope this answers your questions.

Regards,
Francisco
