Hi!

The scrollbar doesn't work with mouse wheel on remote desktop.

in Another application, for example notepad, Google Chrome, etc  It works.

Why?

In this pandemic environment, we need to use remote desktop, because the office of our company is close.

You says is a known issue, that's OK. What will be this ticket? How to close it? The ticket is not resolved.

Hi Géza;

When a new release is made available, you will see under the release documentation's "FIXES" about any RDP feature / tickets addressed. Appeon Support are the only ones who can close a support ticket BTW.

I use KatMouse ( http://ehiti.de/katmouse/ ) as a workaround. Just having it run in the background (on the "target" computer) works, no need to specifically set it up for PowerBuilder. It occasionally stops working; in that case deactivating the "Show tray icon" checkbox in settings, applying changes and then re-activating the option solves that for me.

As a workaround, try using TeamViewer or LogMeIn instead of RDP. There is trial version so you can test , and TeamViewer is free for non-commercial use.

Hi Géza;

  This is a know issue. For example, reported in tickets #'s: 5169, 4683, 3496, etc under both the IDE and PB App EXE's around using the RDP feature. Note that Grid DW mouse scrolling was fixed in PB 2019 R2 build 2323. However, other RDP mouse scrolling issue tickets for the IDE and App EXE's are in the "Scheduling" (aka - to be fixed queue) state.

Hi!

 

1. What version of PowerBuilder are you using? 

    Powerbuilder 2019 R2 build 2353, but in the older versions (pb2017 R3 build 1880, sybase pb10.5.2 build 7826), the problem is same.

2. What remote desktop software and version are you using?

  Windows 10 mstsc  version  10.0.19041, but in win8, win7 the problem is same.

3. Do all users have problem scrolling or only you?

All users.

 

The scrolling works (mouse buttons), the mouse wheel scrolling not works, but only remote desktop.

Just to clarify, you are talking about PB IDE not wheel scrolling or are you talking about the app you developed with PB?

Windows 10 is your client computer but what is the OS of the remote computer where the app installed? Windows Server 2019?

Can you do a quick test with PB 2019 R3 beta to see if it has the same problem? We did some accessibility enhancements that might possibly help. https://account.appeon.com/download

I'm talking about PB IDE. Windows 10 is both of my computers! One in my home, and one is in the company that I work in.



Quick test? No, because I cannot install next to 2019 R2, The R2 is need to work.

I can confirm this is still a problem with Windows 10 and R3 (I have one machine with R3 that it occurs with). My company just did mass upgrades to Windows 10 on our machines from Windows 7, we did not have this issue on any of the machines prior to the upgrades, using 2019 R2.

Remote desktop technology has lots of shortcomings compared to a real cloud-architecture solution like PowerServer, but I have not heard from many Appeon customers that scrolling doesn't work for their PB apps.

We have the same problem. All used Appeon PBs are effected. The workaround it not possible for us because our IT allows only RDP
