Resolved Runtime path does not exist after building the application trying to run on machine without powerbuilder.

I have deployed the application.xml with the path but still getting this error message what are we doing wrong?

Developers who install the Powerbuilder package get the runtime at

C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Common\Powerbuilder\<runtime version>

It seems, if the computer has never had the Powerbuilder IDE installed ie, most client computers, the Powerbuilder Runtime Installer will install to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Shared
 
NOT
 
C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Common
 
The compiler constructs the application.xml file when building to point to the IDE runtime path, not the one with Shared in it.

The <appname>.xml file is a text file that contains the location of the PowerBuilder Runtime. The error message you received is telling you that the location in the xml file was not found.

1 - Make sure the PowerBuilder Runtime is installed.

2 - Edit the xml file and change the folder name to the location it is installed to.

Check:

Correct name for file application.xml? (same name as application)

Is the file in the directory with exe?

Correct runtime path in application.xml specified?
