Hello to all.

I wanted to know if, to install a PB application, i have just copy the dlls into a folder or do I have to install them with Runtime Packager?

Is the same ?

Gimmy

If you are using the excel12 support for example, these dll's need to be installed in the GAC. They can be thrown in with the exe but that causes you problems if you change the working folder with and file/directory calls. YOu need to be very sure both what your application needs to decide what DLLs to deploy and then what the application does to it's environment in order to just copy files over.

Cheers

David

Hi Gimmy; Depending on what features your using, a straight copy of the PB "shared" folder is all you need - especially, for basic features. However on some more advanced features, certain DLL's need to be registered in the GAC. To which the PB Packager MSI install file will perform that action for you. HTH Regards ... Chris

It is the same. As longs as the required files are located somewhere the app can find them, it will work.
