Resolved Running a desktop app as user SYSTEM

Question:

Does native PDF creator works under SYSTEM user in PB2017?

We had issues with this in pb12.5 , needed to create a scheduled report and send it by email, but saveAs PDF did not work.

The System user doesn't have the same rights as a normal user. The System needs rights to the target folder so it can create the file. Also, if the file is on a network drive, that drive is probably not mapped for System.

Hi.

What exactly you want to do? A service or a web service? Why you need to create a pdf with SYSTEM?

We have a scheduled report issuer which is launched from a DB event.



DB service runs as SYSTEM, therefor the resulting task also runs with system.
