Hello,

can I set the aspect of panels in a RibbonBar to be in dropdown-mode?

This is happening automatically when the window is resized and the Ribbon width needs to be reduced, see picture attached.

I would like to set some Panels with the drop-down arrow so that they do not stretch over the entire width, but InsertPanel() and SetPanel() API don't seem to offer this possibility.

Best,

.m

Hi Marco,

Currently it is not supported to set the aspect of panels in a RibbonBar to be in dropdown-mode manually unless you shrink the RibbonBar width properly.

For the rule of displaying the aspect of panels in a RibbonBar to be in dropdown-mode, it is the same as that in the Windows Folder.

You can also refer to another post in the forum.

Hi Mark,

the problem in the current automatic resize is that the rightmost panel(s) is reduced first.

For example, in the PB Ribbonbar template I'd like to have Boards in dropdown mode, but keep Actions and Print panels expanded.

Or, in the Ribbon from previous post, have New and Open reduced but Select expanded.

Looking forward to have this feature in PB 2019 R3?

Best,

Hi Marco,

If I understand you correctly, I don’t think you need this feature.

Like your example in the PB Ribbonbar template, if you want the Boards in dropdown mode, you can also set the Boards panel info as a largebutton and the original largebutton like the employees, products, orders, reports, tasks info, you can use the menu item to replace them and make the menus under the largebutton Boards.

You can refer to the ‘History’ largebutton settings in the template for detail, I think it is what you want.

Correct me if I am wrong, and if you still think this feature is needed, just let us know your thought and I will transfer it to our product team for consideration.

Best regards,

shame on me!

Such a simple solution to achieve same result! I can definitely use a large button with dropdown menu rather than a dropdown panel.

Take into account my previous request for future enhancement if you want, but on my side this workaround will be acceptable.

OK, no problem. I will record it as a new enhancement or requirement request and will transfer it to our product team for consideration.
