Hello,

About upcoming PB 2022 / Snapdevelop 2022

We see HTML UI development is on roadmap for Snapdevelop 2022.  Would like to know any RAD (type of) for HTML UI is planned ?  Like DW in PB can we expect something similar for HTML UI (HTML DW) ?

Happiness Always

Hi Sivaprakash.

I only can guess. So my guess is that you will have to use what those frameworks support to render the information you get from the backend to the frontend.

Also I'm not sure if you should expect an official answer. As it is clearly stated:

"The upcoming features we are disclosing is our minimum plan that is subject to change without notice."

So at this point there is no guarantee that SnapDevelop will have those exact features.

By the way, if I was thinking about what technologie I would have to learn, I think React (native and - or JS) would be my choice, because I saw so many answers refferencing that framework, and because it's under MIT license.

Andreas.

Is this for developing desktop windows in HTML? A long time ago I wrote a PBNI wrapper for Sciter which works well but Sciter doesn't support standard Javascript, it uses it's own slightly different script.

Roland,

I think HTML UI is for Cloud apps, where we can use API's created with PB/SD.

Hi BKR,

For the time being, we plan to provide the standard HTML development feature that contains supports for Angular, React frameworks, etc. It will be irrelevant to PB features such as DWs.

Best regards, Julie

Thanks Julie,

We thought HTML DW will be your preference.

We have to wait and see if there is substantial demand for DW flavor of an HTML control considering 1) the market for third-party controls is already quite mature, and 2) it is extremely expensive to create such controls. As you are probably aware, other companies like Telerik, DevExpress, etc. have made entire business around this as a product (not a little feature).
