Hi Team,

I created Power server Project using 2022 R3 version and I want to use the Docker container register method to publish the API. It's recommending the Windows 10 OS. But I want use docker image in Windows server 2019. Do you have any suggestion.

Thanks,
Shenbagam Balakumar.

Did the Installing Docker Desktop window appear automatically?

while it is true that Docker Desktop cannot be installed on Windows Server, I will communicate to the team that we need to take this case into consideration when using SnapDevelop on Windows Server. In the meantime, I think you should be able to use the docker binaries directly: https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/binaries/#install-server-and-client-binaries-on-windows

Follow the linked instructions, then add the directory that contains the docker command to your PATH variable and then you might be able to deploy.

I tried following these steps on a Windows Server VM, but cannot install the required virtualization components (because it's already a VM).

But theoretically it should work so I recommend you try it out.

Hi Shenbagam,

Do you mean the host OS? If so, it doesn't matter what the host OS is, it's going to be running on a container. Please make sure to review our guide on publishing the Web APIs onto a Docker container.

Regards,
Francisco
