Hi,

i need help while printing RTF runtime app compiled with PB2019.

Printing RTF documents from environment is ok, but if i do the same from exe app the process is slow and the document content is not correct. Header information is imissing (header is also RTF DW) and sometimes the inside of the document has dashed lines.

I checked several times all .dll library needed for release but nothing changed.

I had a similar problem using PB2017 R3 and everything was ok when Appeon has released a new build.

I'm using PB2019 R2 build 2328 but i see there are no new bug fixing.

Can you help me?

Thank you

Luca

Hi Luca,

Please try the following steps and see if it can be fixed.

In PB2019 R2 build 2328 IDE,

1. open your application and go to Application (object) --> Additional Properties --> Richtext Edit tab --> switch to Built-in Rich Edit Control --> OK.

2. open your application and go to Application (object) --> Additional Properties --> Richtext Edit tab --> switch to Built-in TX Text Control --> OK and save the change.

3. recompile your app to the exe file and then test it in your runtime environment to see if it works.

If this issue still exists, please report it to our support ticketing system (https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/newbug) and provide a sample PB test case (with PBT / PBL) for us to reproduce it. Thanks.

Regards,

Hi Mark,

I tried to do as you suggested and it actually works!

Now everything seems to be working properly.

Thank you very much for your valuable advice that solved the problem :-)

Hi Luca;

  Can you tell us ...

1) Are you using an RTE Control or the RTE DataWindow?

2) Is your App set to use the TX or TE 3rd party software (under-the-hood) to support RTE operations?

3) Are you using W10?

Is all the above the same in your App between the PB2017 Rx and the PB2019 Rx versions of your App the same?

Regards ... Chris

Hi Chris,

i checked the properties you said, and in my app the "Built-in TX Text Control" choice is selected.

I tried to set this property to "Built-in rich edit control" but in this case the RTF print document is slow and incorrect.

I also checked in PB2017 and there is the same setting.

In PB2017 the problem with runtime exe app has been solved with 1915 build. With PB2019 seeems to appear again.
