if you copy the project setup for a powerserver project the webserver settings (server configurations) are not copied.  apparently, they are stored elsewhere?  *** copy it to a different machine ***

where are they, how are these copied?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for providing further explanation and screenshots. Sorry for my misunderstanding.

The web server settings are independent and can be used by all PowerServer/ PowerClient projects. It is stored in the file below, you can copy it to another machine.

%localappdata%\Appeon\PBCloud 22.0\cloudserverconfig.json
For example, C:\Users\appeon\AppData\Local\Appeon\PBCloud 22.0\cloudserverconfig.json

Regards,
Kai

is it weird that you have yet another file external to PB pbls for storing this? I would have thought that it would be stored in the PBL along with the project data

That is a great suggestion Mike. Even right in the PS project itself. Then exporting & importing that SRJ would contain everything your PS deployment needs in one place!

the only 'server' is local and the configuration for it is whatever the default seems to be.

this was copied from another install and these config values are missing.  The server uses ftp to another machine.

Hi Mike,

What’s the detailed server configuration that is missing? Do you copy the application only or do you also copy the Web API solution?

IIS configurations are mainly stored in C:/Windows/System32/inetsrv/config/applicationHost.config, but we do not suggest copying them directly. Please create related configurations again.

Regards,
kai

IIS is on a different machine than my dev environment. In order to build PS you have to configure the connection information in the PB's PS project screen for connecting to the api and web server. it is that connection information that i am talking about.

Hi Mike;

I assume that you are talking about PS2021 and/or PS2022 projects.

FWIW: I just do a "SaveAs" from the current PS project into a secondary one and all the initial settings are then copied.

HTH

I use common network servers to stage the PBLs between machines (copy / paste)
