Hi,

Running PB 2022 R3 Build 3356 on a Windows 10 machine.

I open the PowerServer project, go to the Basic tab of the Application section.

When I click "Add Files..." in the External files for either uncompressed format, or in a created package for compressed, PB just sits there for about a minute - and then it just disappears. See event viewer information below.

This feature does work on a much smaller project, but I am trying to spin up one of our main application lines now. I guess my question is, is there a way for me to work around this? Editing source or anything?

The Event Viewer has these details:

Faulting application name: PB220.exe, version: 22.2.0.3356, time stamp: 0x66051d57
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.19041.3693, time stamp: 0x64ee7a9c
Exception code: 0xc000041d
Fault offset: 0x0013f932
Faulting process id: 0x2944
Faulting application start time: 0x01daf57fdcb235f5
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\PowerBuilder 22.0\PB220.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll
Report Id: 0c22cbe7-34cd-49b2-97fb-8037b1d64b48
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

Thanks!

Hi! I actually found the issue, it is with the number of files in the folder that I'm trying to open. I had over 9000 files in there with the PB object files and all that. I deleted all of the PB generated object files and was able to Add Files... in PowerServer without any issue.

Hi John,

Are you running into this issue ever single time (not just some times)?

Do you have the same problem on another machine?  Preferably one that is not a VM so can help isolate if it is VM related?

If answer to both questions is yes, please open a support ticket so we can get our product engineers involved: https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/newbug

Thanks,
Armeen

Hi John;

I get this issue very seldom but when I do ...

  1. Delete the PS app on your Web Server.
  2. Restart your Web Server
  3. Delete the main folder where the Web APIs are built plus all the subfolders.
  4. Perform a full build on your App
  5. Restart the PB IDE
  6. If no errors or warnings, then try again to build & deploy.

HTH

Regards ... Chris
