Resolved powerserver mobile / workspace on android 4.X with 1GB RAM

Hi,

Is it appropriate to expect working and usable application with Appeon PowerServer mobile and Workspace, optimized for offline mode, on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or 4.4 (KitKat) devices with 1GB of RAM. Specifically, Motorla/Zebra TC55 (https://www.zebra.com/us/en/products/spec-sheets/mobile-computers/handheld/tc55.html). Our client have a large number of TC55 devices and we are in process of preparing cost/benefits analysys for keeping old devices or purchasing new.

Espero que esta información te pueda ayudar en tu decisión.

Requirements for the mobile device:

  • Apple iOS 9 or 10

    iOS devices: iPad 2/3/4/Mini/Air, iPhone 4/4S/5/5C/5S/6/6 Plus, iPod touch 4/5, iPad Pro 12.9-inch.

  • Google Android 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 5.0, or 6.0

    Android devices that have been certified by Appeon include Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5100, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000, Google Nexus 6P, Google Nexus 7, LG Nexus 4 E960 (smartphone), Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5210, Samsung Google Nexus 10, ASUS ZenPad S8.0, and ASUS MeMo Pad FHD 10 ME 302C.

  • Puedes ver como es el desempeño de tu aplicación entrando a las opciones de desarrollador de android y ver cuanta memoria consume, CPU, etc.

 

De forma particular he desarrollado una pequeña aplicación para conocer y mostrar el nuevo potencial usando equipos con android 4.4 y 8 GB memoria interna, esta me funciona bien. En aplicaciones que dependen del server el rendimiento lo note diferente sin embargo es entendible debido a que ya haces uso de otra infraestructura.
