Hello All,

I have a pB12.5 app connecting to a old Ingress Database.

Now is using JDBC-

my appeon Server is a .net Appeon Server.

please confirm if the solution is to create and ODBC to the Ingress Database or there is another solution.

Regards,

Hi Andres,

you are using a non-certified database type, so you are not guaranteed the connection will work properly.

See DB pre-requirements here:

https://www.appeon.com/support/documents/appeon_online_help/pb2017/installation_guide_for_powerserver_pb_edition/ch02s04.html

This said, since you are using PowerServer .NET, you can only try if, by pure chance, the ODBC connection works (certified DB would let you use native drivers instead).

Best,

Marco

P.S.

I would rather try to migrate Ingres to a supported RDBMS.

Thnaks Marco,

i will be not posible to migrate the database .

it's a old legacy system. from the PB apps there a a few query only.

as  a workaround if ODBC does not work i will create a WebService with the query and consume it from the PB/Appeon application

Hi,

When you make a deploy with the wizar, you can add the transaction object for use in your aplication, however is posible do it later in enviroment of appeon, in the section Application/Transaction/Transaction Objects. Pay attention if it is 64 or 32 your database so that you install the correct version of the Server

Regards !

DB interfaces  on runtime packager and Other components, maybe you can use connect direct interface (DIR) open client is required.
