Resolved PowerServer as a Service on the Cloud

Hello,
has anyone tried to setup PowerServer "as a sevice" at some Cloud provider?

It is relatively easy to activate a MS IIS instance on a VPS offered by Azure, AWS, Rackspace.

However, since you do not get a dedicate server where can log in and run the PS installation, has anyone gone through possible options of the aforementioned Cloud providers for installing PS on top of the Cloud IIS instance? 

Even if PS silent installation is available (although this document does not have a recent update, https://www.appeon.com/support/documents/appeon_online_help/2015/installation_guide_on_cloud_platform/ch01.html), how to run it on Azure/AWS/RS Cloud VPS?

Hi Marco;

   I have set-up Amazon EC2 instances for PowerServer for a few clients of mine. Just make sure that you also enable "elastic" addressing Once the EC2 is up, I then  installed ZileZilla on the Windows Server E2 instance and then uploaded the PS installation, PB runtime and SA installations as required. You can then use RDT to login to your E2's elastic IP address and run the required installs along with setting up IIS for PS use.

  BTW: Amazon provides IIS and SQLServer "ready to go" EC2 platforms. All you need to do is tweak their configurations for PS.  wink

Great question. I wonder if it would be possible for someone to pay extra to get a dedicated server, install PowerServer, and then charge other people to run their app on it.

Hi Ronald,

that is a common approach, I have a dedicated server and split the monthly cost among the customers of deployed applications.

But VPS does not allow you to log in and you must provide software as a services.
