Hi,

We're having problems with the app not updating at the client when we update it at the server. We're having to delete the app from C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\PBApps\Applications and hit the download link again in order to get the new version. We're updating the version number before we install to the server. Is there something else that controls this functionality that we need to look at?

Thanks,

Shawn

Here is how our versioning is configured in PB. Maybe we're not doing it correctly:

We really need to get this app rolled out. Are there any other suggestions? Should I open a ticket? Would I have to pay for the ticket if the problem is in Powerserver?

Thanks.

Hi Shawn, Since Logan has confirmed these are bugs please go ahead and open a standard support ticket, which is free. Paid tickets are only for issues that are not Appeon product defects. Once you open the support ticket, please post your ticket ID # here and our sales team will escalate your case with support to try to get a temporary workaround since you need to get the app rolled out.

Hi Shawn,

I see that a similar bug has been fixed internally, and it will be included in the next MR.

Please try the following workaround:

Find the deploylist.ini.zip file under your WebServer, and use Notepad to open it. Make sure to include not only the latest version but also historical versions.

E.g.:

[Public]
MinimumValidVersion=1.01

[1.01]
OnlineTime=2021-07-29T07:03:28
OfflineTime=2031-07-29T07:03:28

[1.02]
OnlineTime=2021-07-29T07:03:28
OfflineTime=2031-07-29T07:03:28

Run the old version of the app again to see if you can be prompted to upgrade.

If still not resolved, please show your deploylist.ini.zip file here.

Regards, Logan

Hi Shawn,

Sorry, there is another bug with MinimumValidVersion. To workaround it, you need to set it to 2.05. Then users can at least see a prompt to upgrade or not.

After fixed in the next MR, MinimumValidVersion will work as expected, and users will have to upgrade to the MinimumValidVersion.

Regards, Logan

Hi Shawn;

  Can you tell us...

  1. O/S version & build?
  2. Web server version & build?
  3. PB version & build?

Regards ..  Chris

Would it mess things up if there were multiple version installed on the same server. e.g. wwwroot\clientapp\LBv2\2.04 & 2.05 & 2.06 etc? We've removed the old version maybe that will help?
