Hi

We are trying to Configure PowerServer 2022. In Database when we are giving the Oracle 10g Credentials Its not taking. Please suggest alternative to connect to Oracle 10g. ( We know PS2022 supports 12c on words. Migration from 10g to 19c is under process and don't know when it will complete)

Please Suggest an alternative.

Thanks & Regards

Chakrapani

PowerServer 2022 only supports Oracle 12c - 21c: https://docs.appeon.com/ps2022/Database_Server.html

You must first upgrade your Oracle database before you can use PowerServer 2022.

I just had a look at https://stackoverflow.com/questions/64903256/connecting-to-oracle19c-server-using-oracle11g-client

The oracle 19c client is not backwards compatible for Oracle server 10.

So you'd have to use some 12c client or upgrade your server.

regards.

Hi,

Powerserver requires at least Oracle 12c client. If I remember well, there was still some kind of bug with 12c, which was supposed to be resolved, but never was. I'd recommend using Oracle 19c driver for the client. Not sure how much it's backwards compatible.

regards

Correct Miguel but not only that - the DBMS server *must* also be O12C or higher.

Thanks I didn't know that. I've been using an 11g Server with Oracle 12c client without problems, but of course: 11g is not 10 ?

You have to remember that PowerServer does *not* use the Oracle DB client software. Instead, it uses its own native C# drivers. The Oracle C# native driver does not support anything below 11G. ;-)
