Is there an alternative to PowerFilter? Does PB2017 R3 have capabilities for modern excel-like filtering? If not, are there any plans for that in 2018 (and beyond) versions?

Hi Dimitry;
PB2017R3's filtering features are the same as in PB12.6. There are no changes to filtering either for PB2018. However, after PB2018R2/R3, there could certainly be more filter / import /export / etc enhancements. Keep checking out the PB Road-map on the main Appeon website and feel free to create a Support Ticket as an enhancement request for these type of things.
Regards ... Chris

Thanks Chris... Just to clarify - PowerBuilder currently does not have native excel-like filtering alternatives to PowerFilter?

Correct ... PF has more unique features for that interaction currently - so does DW2XLS (I believe).
That would make a nice enhancement request though to add DW2XLS & PF functionality right inside the PB run-time.

What about PowerFilter doesn't meet your needs?

Have you asked the author (Jim Reese) about PB 2017? I don't use it myself.
So you don't have a license currently?

No, we currently don't have the license. Never had the need for this functionality, until recently. I will try to reach out to Jim.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I don't think Dmitry ever contacted me, just saw this. He could have migrated 12.6 version to 2017 and beyond, it is straight PB code.
