Hi,

I am using Powerbuilder 2021 (build 1509 ). My database is oracle 11g. I have a local oracle 11g database in my machine.

I have webbrowser in one of my windows. I use navigate command to open a html file in one of my directories.

The webbrowser works fine when I don't connect to oracle database.

However the webbrowser does not work when I connect to Oracle database. It displays a blank page.

What is the connection between Powerbuilder webbrowser and oracle database?

Thanks and regards

T.R.Gowthaman

This has happened before and was fixed in PB2019 R3:

Regression bug maybe?

Ahhh ... that's probably because Appeon included a new version of the Chromium engine in PB 2021 (under-the-hood) that drives the built-in Web Browser control. So this seems like it could be a regression issue.

FWIW: I would try a test of this behaviour though using the new PB 2022 R2 beta as Appeon has dumped the Chromium engine and is now using the Microsoft WebView2 engine (under-the-hood) to drive the built-in web browser control.

While I agree that it would be best to concentrate on the WebView2 browser control, not every company can / wants to upgrade to the pb2022 r2 yet. Personally, I won't yet, because I see too many unresolved bugs, including with the webview2 control.

As a matter of fact, we'll stick to 2019 R3 until most of the bugs of 2022 have been resolved.

Hi T.R;

   FWIW: I have never heard of this problem before.  I would recommend opening a support ticket for this issue.

Regards ... Chris
