hi, we have currently the source code is in PB22 R2 2819 migrated from pb21 / prior to that it was in pb 12.5. Previous day we have build and copied pbd/exe/pb22 dlls in users PC. but many datawindow computed fields have creating issues , now computed field length automatically changed to char (1) which leading to truncate issue during runtime.  result is empty after retrieval. Any solution for this ? we are passing parameter value to dw during retrieval ( example : title of a report is computed field and title we are passing as parameter, so length of the report name is more than 1 char, which leading to truncate error and thus report is empty)    (2) Anothe issue  similar to this  external dw column also changed to char(1)

Mr. Chris Pollach@appeon expecting your valuable insights  to resolve these issues. (100 s of datawindows are like this)

Hi Gibi;

  I have migrated many Apps from PB 2019 => 2021 = 2022 and never seen the migration feature change DWO(s) column or computed column sizes. The same for reported tickets on this issue either - no such issues reported that I have seen. This DWO column / computed column size changes are not normal and are not a thing that the auto migration feature would touch. It sounds like something else is affecting these DWO definition changes.

=>  I would also suggest that you consider moving to PB 2022 R3 instead of R2 as it's the LTS supported version.

Q: Does the DWO column problem only happen in the deployed PB App EXE or is it also found in development when run from the IDE?

Regards .. Chris
