We are having several issues accessing a MSSQL Server 2016 database using "ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server".  My question is simple:  Is "ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server" supported for applications built using PowerBuilder 2017?

Thank you Chris and Roland for the feedback.  It was very helpful.  I think the solution for us will be to use the SQL Native Client.

SQL Native Client is a solid choice. When PB 2019 R3 is released, you may want to consider switching to SQLOLEDB or ADO.NET.

My understanding is that they are working on support for it in the next PB 2019 update.

Hi Christian;

  For SS2016, the DBMS supplied ODBC client is the "SQL Server Native Client 11" driver. When you install the SS2016 (or 2017/2019 for that matter) DBMS, it will also install the above mentioned client.

ODBC Admin ...

IDE ...

Note: Make sure that your DSN is a "System" defined DSN.

HTH

Regards ... Chris

The OP is talking about the new SQL Server ODBC driver which I am pretty sure the dev team is working on supporting. It was mentioned at the conference.
