Powerbuilder IDE 19 R3 2728 crashes on building application randomly.

Any suggestions will be really appreciated.

Also, on one of Windows 7 workstation, we are getting PBNI object error. On all other workstations with Windows 10, it is working fine. What can we check further for the resolution

Instead of opening the project object, try doing this:

- open library painter

- right click on target

- choose “deploy”

I found this to solve the crashes in previous releases

Glad it worked. Maybe this should be reported as a regression bug. It happened in older versions, but not in build 2703.

I don’t know about the pbni error, but maybe it would help if you post the exact error with a bit more detail.

Regards

The computer with Windows 7 is having this issue, while all windows 10 users are able to access the application without any issue. I tried replacing all the DLLS as well but no luck.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the quick response.

Actually, the application was built in PB17 R3 and deployed for over an year. One of the user suddenly started getting the PBNI object error, hence I thought of trying using PB 19. Does PB 17 R3 supports Windows 7 ?

Yes, 2017R3 is the last version to support W7.

Thanks for the quick response. After lot of research I found that we are also calling Python code within PowerBuilder to call API and get large amount of data. The python code which is written in version 3.9 which is also not supported by Windows 7. So for now we have asked the client to upgrade to Windows 10.
