We have Powerbuilder 12.5 and cannot install it on a Windows 10 dell laptop. We have tried reimaging the laptop and just installing powerbuilder. It installs the .net prereqs, sql anwhere, and infomaker, it hangs and never shows the install wizard for powerbuilder. Any suggestions?

I have had massive difficulties in 122.5.1 b7055 installed onto a Windows 10 platform.

Ocassionally, it will succeed, but it usually required multiple attempts.

1. Install SYSAM. Ensure that it is running correctly.

2. Create your new License file and download it into the Licences folder.

3. Install PBv12.

I have attachedtwo files that might be of help.

Good Luck,

Olan

Hi Jon;

   Unfortunately, PB 12.5.x and 12.6 were not W10 compliant releases of PowerBuilder. Appeon PB 2017 was the first W10 compliant release.

   The only think I can think of that might get you through the W10 install using PB 12.5.x is to try booting up W10 in "Safe Mode" and then run the installation again and see if that works. Also, be sure that you run the install as the W10 "Administrator".

Regards ... Chris
