Hi.

So we have this weird issue on one of our customers servers.

When logging into the server via TeamViewer, the report in question comes up in preview in about 2 seconds.

When logging into the exact same server via RDP, the report takes over 20 seconds.

Same server, same user, same EXE file and same ODBC profile.

What can be the issue here? Firewall or something like that?

We removed the checkbox for "Printer" in MS RDP, and all is good.

I will talk to the IT dept. to instruct them about this.

Thanks a lot!

Bjarne

Printer config issues is one of the most common problem with Citrix.  Try wrokaround #1 in this KB article: https://www.appeon.com/developers/get-help/knowledgebase/opening-richtextedit-control-over-terminal-services-slow.html It says it only applies to RichTextEdit, but specifically the workaround #1 is useful for entire PowerBuilder application.

TeamViewer gives you the session that is currently on the machine. RDP creates a background session which merges in local resources like printers. If your current printer comes from the local machine, any DataWindow will be much slower.

Check to see what printer is active when you run the report. RDP might default to a different printer than TV does.
