Hi

My app crash at offsets:

0013ca05 - which should be (according to depends) _jpeg_idct_islow

0015ba78 - PbHeap_exception

0015ba78 looks like a memory leak or exception handling itself. But what's 0013ca05? Do you know where's _jpeg_idct_islow called from? Can someone look at where is this function called from? Is it a picture object? Can the issue be connected to a broken or unsupported jpeg format (Jpeg in CMYK etc)?

Thank you

I did a search on "_jpeg_idct_islow" on my Appeon install and found an occurrence in the IDE folder within PSDWC.DLL. The description says "Appeon Datawindow Web ActiveX Module". Maybe that could give someone a clue, you never know.

Hi Tomas;

Whether you post this issue here or better yet in a support ticket, you need to also give us key information, such as:

  1. Does this issue happen on all user machines?
  2. What O/S version & build is the App deployed to?
  3. Are the users accessing the App via RDP, Citrix, etc?
  4. What version & build of PB are you using?
  5. Is the App EXE a 32 or 64 bit compilation?
  6. Is the App compiled to P-Code or M-code?
  7. Is the App Client/Server, PowerClient or PowerServer based?
  8. What DBMS, version & build is the App using?
  9. What DB client mechanism is the App using to connect to the DB server?
  10. Etc.

Regards ... Chris

Hi Tomas,

I think you might get more lucky by creating a ticket on https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/newbug

Hi

You're right but unfortunately at this point I don't know how to repeat this bug.

The only thing I have is the user's eventlog and the corresponding wer file. For opening a service ticket I've to be able to reproduce the issue. So first I've to find it. Knowing where's the jpeg function called from and when and what can affect it would be helpful.

I understand, but I still think your best shot is Appeon's support.

Good luck!

Do you have a memory dump file? I have seen some answers in tickets based on memory dump file. Maybe they will not give you the solution but they may find where is the problem and if it's related to PB or something else. So I agree with Miguel: try opening a ticket...

Andreas.
