Hi Team,

We have upgraded Power builder 10 to 21 version , In development machine (PB21 IDE installed) we have placed pbd file in exe folder and we launching executable from exe folder. In testing environment , we didn't install PB21 software . To run the application in testing machine we have copied pbd and run-time dll files to exe folder.

We are facing window crashing error in the runtime in testing machine , we suspect  that dll files are present in exe folder which is causing the issue.

Please let us know procedure where to keep the run time dll files and  how it will be invoked in the run time . Do we need to add the path of dll path in environment variable

Adding to what John said, I would recommend doing a quick test with PB 2022 to verify if it is version specific issue.  If PB 2022 also crashing then maybe there are some code changes you need to make per the OB upgrade guide documentation.  By the way, PB 2021 will be EOL soon I don’t recommend using that if you haven’t already finished your project.

Hi, Gayathiri -

Deployment of PB apps has changed dramatically since version 10.

If you have not already done so, I suggest you carefully read through ALL of the information in this link:

https://docs.appeon.com/pb2021/application_techniques/Deploying_Applications_and_Components.html#PowerBuilder_runtime_files

...particularly, the section that describes the application XML file that PB automatically generates by default.

Best regards, John
