Hi all,

Currently, the AutoCompiler utility only supports compiling .exe applications. Does Appeon have any intention to support .NET targets in future releases - specifically the new .NET assembly feature coming out in PB 2018?

Thanks,

Don Olliver

Hi Don;

   Here is the official word from Appeon Engineering.  Since the C# targets in PB2018 are based on the .Net Core technology - the external C# compiler to use will be the .Net Framework Standalone Compiler.

Hi Don;

   AFAIK: You will be able to just use the MSBuild feature from Microsoft. However, I'll double-check with Appeon Engineering just to make sure and report back here soon.

Great question BTW!

Thanks Chris. MSBuild cannot be used for the current (PB 2017 R2) .NET assembly targets, correct?

Correct. PB2017's current C# implementation calls the C# compiler directly as supplied via the MS-Windows SDK installation and not via a Project Solution file that will be present in PB2018 (will use the Roslyn Compiler).
