Hi,

Is it correct that PB Native Source Control is not supported when using the new compiler.

If is there a step-by-step description (or video much more preferred) on how to set op PB with GIT source control ?

Also, will there be another beta drop ? if so when ?

Thanks

 Steen

ps. I think the feature set of PB 2025 is quite impressive and most relevant - Good job Appeon - Thank you :-)

Not supporting SCC API for solution mode seems arbitrary, there is no technical reason why it couldn't be supported. It should be simpler than for workspace mode.

Appeon is obviously spending a lot of development time on the new solution mode. Blocking a large number of customers from using it seems short sighted. They aren't going to switch source code providers just to use solution mode.

Hi Roland, many PB customers are moving to Git/SVN or already moved. We also have concerns that by the time most customers upgrade to PB 2025 that could be years out and this trend has further progressed. For the laggards that after so many years are happy to use legacy source control systems, there is still option to stay with PBLs. In other words, we haven't taken anything away, but when we invest to add new features we have to do that based on where things will go not where they have been in the past. It's compromise we hate to make because we know it won't make everybody happy but our resources aren't unlimited so it's necessary to do.

Hi Steven;

  Correct. You would need to stay with a Workspace vs a Solution in order to remain with the native SCM feature.

  For using GIT ...

  Yes, I am sure that there will be more beta drops coming in the future. There is not set schedule for these at the moment.

Regards ... Chris
