The new MDI TabbedView does not work so well.

1. You cannot prevent a sheet from closing by returning 1 in the sheet's closequerey event. In my view a complete showstopper for using it.

2. You cannot save a MDI window WITHOUT a menu. This is also a complete showstopper when using a RibbonControl since you then do NOT want an old style menu in the top also.

3. You cannot disable the right-click menu on the tabs. Minor thing.

To me and my requirements the TabbedView is not usable in the Beta.

Hi Steen;

FYI

  • MDI Frame with Tabbed property turned on
  • Dummy menu attached with no menu items to the MDI Frame
  • OpenSheet performed from the MDI frame.
  • Sheet has no menu
  • Result => No menu bar is visible.

HTH

Hi Steen;

  I can replicate your findings. For #2 though, we have always had to add a Menu Class with no menu items to an MDI Frame to satisfy this requirement since PB 2.0. BTW: I saw your Support Ticket on this & processed it over to Engineering.  ;-)

Hi Steven;

If there are no menu items, then no menu bar should be allocated by the PBVM. This sounds like a definite "bug". Please open a beta Support Ticket for this anomaly. Also, if you have a simple test case PB app that you can attach to the ticket, that would be great. Thanks!

You are right. Another issue I've seen: if you close a window that can be prevented to close using the window close button, then choose finally not to close it, the tab will disappear while the window will remain open...

I see that the case opened by Steen (https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/search/view?id=10252) is updated and now reflects to the issue I tried to describe.
