Hello,

I tried to install PB 2022 and the installation process stop with infinite Status spinner on "Installing PowerBuilder Runtime":

The download part was Ok.

I already have PB2017 and PB2019 on my computer.

Nb : I had to download the PowerbuilderInstaller on https://file.appeon.com/download/Installer/PowerBuilder/PowerBuilderInstaller.zip because direct download from download entry was blocked with security on internet access with PowerbuilderInstaller first update.

Hi.

By the way, when running offline installer, another way to overpass autorun.exe blocking is to directly run in a command prompt with admin privileges setup.exe -a (this is what autorun.exe will internally execute).

Andreas.

Hi Pierre & Sharam,

  1. Please check whether the installation process is blocked by the antivirus software.
  2. Please zip the folders C:\Windows\SysWOW64\AppeonInstallLog  and C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\PowerBuilder Installer\log and send them to us for analysis.

In order to better track and handle the case, please submit a ticket at https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/newbug. Thanks!

Regards,

Mora

Hi,

I have a similar problem with installing PB2022. The installation keeps faling when installing the IDE.

Downloaded the offline installer but get a error message when I run it.

I am on windows 10 and already have PB2017 and PB2021 installed.

Any help to resolve this issue is much appreciated.

Hi Chris, I am on Windows real machine.

Finally I was able to install with Offline installation process. I had to rename Autorun.exe which is automatically blocked by security.

Now I'm facing issue to launch PB2022 and PB2019 at the same time. We already have this kind of problem with PB2017 and PB2019 but we are using the workaround to open a second process and quit it.

I thought this problem had been solved. Is there another solution?

Best regards,

Pierre

It seems ok by opening PB2017 twice and BP2022 after...

Yes, that is the old workaround. Glad that still works for you with PB PB2017. :-)

Hi.

By the way, PB 2017 MR 1951 solves that issue.

Hi Pierre;

When you downloaded the offline installer via the ZIP - did you then run the offline install "As Admin"?

Also, what version & build of MS-Windows are you using? Is that a real or virtual machine?

Regards ... Chris
