Resolved PB 2017R3 runtime installation ended prematurely

Hi,

I'm trying to install a PowerBuilder 2017 R3 Runtime (PB64RT170.msi) on a server which has Windows Server 2012 R2 as OS. I do this as an administrator. The installation does not succeed. It ends with the following message:

“Appeon PowerBuilder 17.0 64-bit Runtime Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run Setup Wizard again. Click the finish button to exit the Setup Wizard."

While searching for a solution I noted that it might be a windows / msi issue, because this message is also known in relation to the installation of other programs / tools. Still, I would like to know if someone here knows how to handle this. I've added a verbose log file of the installation.

The server should be going live today.

A system administrator is doing a reboot now. I hope this will work.

After the reboot the installation succeeded. I guess that should have been done before asking the question here. But there was "some pressure".

I had started cmd as administrator, and started the installer from the command line.

I've run it in compatibility mode for previous version of Windows, but unfortunately the result is the same.

Maybe as a temporary solution: Would it work if you run the installer in "compatibility mode"?
