The release note for Build 1769 says:

Installing this revision requires you to uninstall the original version 2017 first. If you have already installed build #1756 of this revision, we will provide an MR for you to apply on top of the build in April.

Is there a planned released date in April for the above mentioned MR?

We would really like to receive it instead of having to uninstall/re-install the 1769 build. It's a hassle to capture and re-applying all the registry settings etc. Appeon should really provide a way to apply upgrades without wiping out all the settings.

We are waiting on the MR, but when is the release date?

Hi Kim,

PB 2017 R2 build 1769 is the latest version, which will require you to uninstall PB 2017 R2 build 1756 or any previous build of PB 2017.  The MR mentioned is for customers that installed PB 2017 R2 build 1756 and don't want to uninstall that version.  Customers running any build of PB 2017 will need to uninstall in order to upgrade to PB 2017 R2.

We absolutely understand this is a hassle, and starting from PB 2017 R3 we will allow it to upgrade over the previous install and carry over the settings.  We apologize for the inconvenience this time.

Regards,
Armeen Mazda
CEO, Appeon

I had the same question as Kim (What date in April?) ... if it's not available until PB 2017 R3, then please remove "If you have already installed build #1756 of this revision, we will provide an MR for you to apply on top of the build in April." from the release note.

It will be available before the end of April... but the exact date in April is hard to predict as it depends how our testing goes.  Of course, we are trying to get this out ASAP to our customers.  If you are seriously affected by a bug that is corrected in the MR and cannot wait then I would recommend going through the hassle of uninstalling build 1756 and installing build 1769.
