Hi!!

I have browsed a lot of Q&A without finding the answer.

Our PowerBuilder application is as follows:

- PowerBuilder 2017

- database MS SQL Server, connection with SNC native Client

- more than 20 PBLs

- the window is quite normal application with MDI frame (AFAIK no themes in PB2017)

- citrix Workspace app 24.2.0

The client has used our app for years without issues. But now that they upgraded Citrix the following symptoms have started to emerge. When opening a main window with plenty of datawindows and starting to browse the dw rows, the app freezes up and CPU usage goes up. If the user minimizes the app from Windows taskbar - and then restores it, the app functions normally for a while, and the the same problem will repeat itself.

We tried out adding DisableProcessWindowsGhosting() call to application open event - no help.

We suspect that something is gradually getting corrupted somewhere because the application works well if the Citrix server is recently rebooted and if there are not many users logged in. After the server is getting usage load, the problems are starting to develop.

Any help greatly appreciated. Regards,

Antti

We managed to resolve the issue. MS Touch Keyboard service/process seems to cause that problem. Disabling the process helps. This ticket can ben closed.

What version of Windows is being used by the Citrix server? Did this change with the Citrix upgrade?

Because PB 2017 is an older version, it is not supported on the newer versions of Windows and Windows Server. This doesn’t mean it WON’T work, only that Appeon has not certified that it WILL work.

What does Citrix Support say about this issue, because from what you have described, the problem may be due to the Citrix upgrade?

Best regards, John
