We are using PB2017R2, running against an Oracle database. We have a local external procedure call that uses array parameters, both in and out. We began testing Oracle 18c recently, and post-upgrade we found that this procedure started failing with an error:

ORA-00932: Inconsistent Datatypes: Expected %s, received %s

This looks to be exactly the same problem outlined by Frank Louis last November at the following link:

https://community.appeon.com/index.php/qna/q-a/pb-2017-with-oracle-18c?limitstart=0#reply-10516

Has anyone had a look, any update for this, or workarounds? Thanks!

I assume you already have "PBNewSPInvocation='Yes'" in your dbparm connection string?

If not, try adding it, it might (just might), solve the problem.

Hi Miguel;

FYI: That parameter only applies to ODBC connections & not native Oracle.

Ah, yes you're right: I was thinking I used it, but that was only in a small app which I used to show problems and differences between ODBC, JDBC and Native drivers. Sorry for the misleading info.

Hi Clint;

  O18C is not officially supported yet in PowerBuilder ... even in PB2019.

FYI: https://www.appeon.com/support/documents/appeon_online_help/pb2019/connecting_to_your_database/ch11s01.html

Regards ... Chris

Correct, but .... that is a different product which uses different (.Net Core) DB connectivity drivers.

True, but confusing. It would be nice if DB versions would be supported equally over all Appeon's products. I understand that it might be difficult though.
