Hi,

So we have a PowerBuilder application that has embedded OLE object for Word to view Word documents.  It works find with Office 2016 and 2019.

But with Office 365, the Word Ole object opens up as a separate window instead of embedded within the application UI window.

Does anyone have encountered such an issue?

Daniel

Hi Daniel;

  Yes, Office 365 has some different behaviours that previous MS-Office versions. You might even have to "tweak" your OLE code (I know I had to here & there).

Any pointers on how you tweaked yours?

I have been playing around with all the settings in the UI, but no luck.

Did you have to tweak it programmatically?

Thanks!

Yes, I had to refactor some PowerScript OLE code. :-(

So, as more and more developers experience issues converting their OLE code from MS Word 2019 to Office 365, are there any refactoring constants or hints that we can look out for? I don't have time to rebuild the Word interface in our application, so my only hope is the refactoring the OLE code route. Any code examples that you could provide would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Cheers
