Hi, we have an old PB 12.5 app that calls and checks the DB for needed updates. After checking and updating if necessary, it calls the PB 2019 application.

We need the two versions so that if the runtime dll's in the PB 2019 changes, we can overwrite them in the same directory as the PB 12.5 runtime dll's without conflict.

We are trying to install PB 12.5 on an AWS but it seems not to be able to run (It actually opened about 3 out of 15 times trying without indicating why). This is before installing our certificate (30 day trail run before this old PB 12.5 will complain)

I have heard that PB 12.5 can not run remotely.

Does anyone have PB 12.5 running in AWS or know if it can or cannot be done?

Hi Douglas;

  You should never put the two run-times in the same folder as while many DLL's are numbered (so they are OK), some DLL's are not numbered - hence leading to the PB App becoming unstable issue.

Thank you Chris,

I always appreciate your insight and advice.

I'll suggest to my boss that we put the Updater App be put in a different folder, maybe a subfolder.

Doug
