Hi

I need some help, please.

I have a dw object with a column called 'Comments' where user can put in notes up to 2000 characters.

When I build this free-form dw object, the 'Comments' column shows up as a long, one-line field.

I would like to make that field a 'multi-line' field so when a comment is longer than the field's width, it starts the next line, and so on.

I have played with different properties of this field but to no avail.

Are there any other objects that I can utilize to suit my needs? Or, are there any tweaks or techniques that work?

I am aware of this 'window' control - milti-line-edit - which is not what I need as I am looking for a 'dw' control (in the dw painter) to put within a dw object.

Thank you

CJ

I take Mike's suggestions and turn them into default layout for all developers across all new DW objects. PB calls this Extended Attributes (see screen shot sample).

Every new DW gets the Summary column as 3 x 2 inches edit area with vertical scroll and label = "Summary". Takes extra effort for any dev to insist on non-default layout. Better consistency across UI.

CreateFromSyntax uses same extended attributes for dynamically created DataWindows.
