Hello,

just a question. Is there any plan for PB to natively support MSOLEDBSQL announced

https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/sqlnativeclient/2017/10/06/announcing-the-new-release-of-ole-db-driver-for-sql-server/

and downloadable using this link?

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56730

I tried to set up a database profile in PB 2017 R3 and it's possible to connect successfully. However the connected database is always default 'master'. There is no way (or I maybe couldn't find it out) how to specify a database.

Specifying Database='xyz' or Initial Catalog='xyz' in Extended properties editbox of Database profile doesn't help.

I was finally able to connect using udl file specified in DataLink filename but I would rather connect directly if possible.

Thank you

Robert

I just tried it and it worked. I have SQL Server Express 2017 on my laptop and was able to connect to it from PowerBuilder 10.5 without any issues.

Yes, you're right - it works fine with Database=xyz in Extended properties in Database profile.

I'm not sure what I had wrong when I tried that. Perhaps extra aposthrophes around database name..

Thank you
