Hi and happy New Year!
I moved to PB21 and would like to take Keyboards Shortcuts I defined in IDE with me.
I look in the PB.INI and the usual places in the Registry but couldn't find them.
Before I start a laborious search I rather ask the community:

Does anyone know where PowerBuilder stores/keeps/hides the user defined Keyboard Shortcuts?

TIA, Ludwin

Hi Everyone;

Here is another tip ..  copy PB IDE clipboard items from PB2019 => PB2021

  1. Open REGEDIT utility
  2. Go to the PB 2019 Clip window location which is is stored: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sybase\PowerBuilder\19.0\Clip
  3. Copy the above values to the corresponding registry of PB 2021: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sybase\PowerBuilder\21.0\Clip

Regards .. Chris

Hi Mark!

Thank you for this valuable information!
I logged in and copied from Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sybase\PowerBuilder\19.0\Shortcuts.
That worked great!

If I may add a feature to the list: Also copy the self defined Layouts laughing.

Best regards, Ludwin.

Hi Ludwin,

These can be found under your user SID in the registry (see pic below with my SID). They are stored under the 1037 entry in binary format and so they don't make sense when you look at the values.

They can also be found under Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sybase\PowerBuilder\19.0\Shortcuts when you're logged in.

Just a caveat, I don't know whether the format has changed going from 2019R3-2703, which is what I'm running, to PB21 and so make sure you have a backup of the existing values before editing.

Would be a nice feature upon install, if the installer detects existing customized keyboard settings, ClipWindow entries etc., to ask whether to copy these to the new install.

HTH...regards,

Mark
