Hi All,

We have PowerBuilder application with Sybase SQL Anywhere as the backend DB. Client wants to move to MS SQL Database, we are doing research on how we can do this migration, however we cannot find any straight forward approach. We have around 700+ Tables, 500+ Stored procedures, 100+ Functions and 100+ triggers.

Can you please help on sharing some help detail on how we can achieve this and any open source tool available for this.

Thanks in Advance. -Raj

Hi Raj;

  There are lots of DBMS schema migration tools out there. In this case, Google is your friend.  ;-)

Hi.

In addition to what Chris said, if you are using sql that is specific to sql anywhre there you should expect to have to do some changes - rewrite. Also, you stated you have a lot of stored procedures and functions. Depending on what language those are written, and if sql it's ansi sql, watcom sql e.t.c., you may have to do some rewrite.

Just curious, why clients do want to move to sql server?

Andreas.
