Hi All,

I have a menu in my application, to which I am adding some new toolbar items (with icons).

I am having an issue where some new icons that I am adding, are not appearing when I deploy the application to the clients PC's ?

The icons appear OK on my PC (as it has powerbuilder installed).

Is there a .dll file that I need to install on the client PC which contains the new icons?

I have never had to add any to the pbr resource file.
These are standard icons built into POwerbuilder.

I have attached an image showing how I have set up the menu/icon.

Thanks,

Nas

Have you deployed the pbresource190.dll?

Hi Rene,

Thank you for your suggestion.

I have just tried this, but still have the issue?

I copied the file to the clients PC (Same folder as the application)

Hi, Nasir -

Please refer to the list of runtime files in the PB Help Topic that begins with "Runtime". If you still are unable to get the menu icons to appear, I suggest you copy ALL of the runtime files, then using the documentation, begin removing DLL's one by one.

Best regards,
John

Hi Nasir;

There was a small issue a while back with this. What version and build of the PB IDE are you using?

Regards ... Chris

The current R2 build is 2353. That is two MR's ahead of your current build. Please try this if you can as there are no reported built-in icon issues on that build that I am aware of.

Hi,

This is a known bug, also in pb2019 r3: https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/search/view?id=6485

When you go to the link, you can download a trial-fix DLL, but Constatin confirmed that the fix doesn't really do a good job, because the image quality is bad.

So the best thing to do for now, is to distribute the images to the folder of your EXE file.

regards.

Hi Miguel,

I think it is a different problem. Nas talked about stock pictures. Your issue is with PNG files.

Hi René,

You might be right, maybe it's another bug related to menu images. My whole point is, that there's already something really wrong with something that's been working well for years. I don't know how they manage to break stuff like this, it mustn't be easy I guess.
