Hello Is a maintenance release scheduled before 2017R3 (July 31 2018)?

Around end of this month there will be an MR of PB 2017 R2. July 31, 2018 is the tentative date for PB 2017 R3, which will of course include additional fixes but also offers some new features/enhancements, such as OAuth support and additional JSON-related features, enhancements to Git and SVN integration, enhancements to the native PDF, SQL Server 2017 support, etc.  In my opinion, PB 2017 R3 is a must-have upgrade for most customers.

I agree that Appeon is doing a great job. But I'm only saying that there should be some emphasis on quite a few bugs. Like your comparison with 'road works', you would first want to have it asphalted before having fancy stuff added to it, unless you can afford to wait. Maybe you are lucky and don't use stuff like rte and your clients don't care too much about transparencies, different spacing and having memory leaks. Ours do, so that's why we have to wait.

I've done a re-revision of my initial bug-list and I think I might be a little bit more "lenient":



These are the real "show stoppers" and taking in account we probably have to change our source control away from TFS, but hey ...

Good news that Appeon PowerBuilder 2017 R2 Update (build 1769) has been officially released already.

The reported issue, for some of the bugs in your list, has been fixed in this latest release. Please download and install it to verify your reported issues and let us know if any problems.



You may download and install this latest release from our Downloads portal at https://www.appeon.com/user/center/index?menu=download (requires login) or you may manually go to the Downloads portal from Login (to the Appeon Website) > User Center (under your login user icon) > Downloads.

select GA type before you click on the Search button, and you will find the associated PowerBuilder Universal #1769 download links.



Please note that installing PowerBuilder 2017 R2 Update (build 1769) requires you to uninstall PowerBuilder 2017/R2 first. And we will release an MR in April (build 1769) which can also be downloaded from the User Center.



We are currently still working on the rest of the bugs in your list.
