PowerBuilder 2019R3
Windows 10, 64 bit platform

We have 4 licenses, with one assigned to me and one to my supervisor. Two licenses are unassigned.

I want to be able to open PB2019R3 on two separate VMs at the same time, so I thought I'd assign one of the unassigned licenses to me, so I would have TWO licenses. Sadly, this is not possible. The system specifically prohibits one user account from having multiple licenses in the same active period.

Is there a way to accomplish the goal of having two instances of PB2019R3 open at the same time in two different VMs?
If so, HOW is this accomplished?
Note: I do not see a way for me to create another user ID.

Thank You,

Olan

Hi Olan,

Our licensing policy (per the EULA) is that a single license (i.e. "Seat") can only be used on one machine at a time.  So if you want to run PB IDE simultaneously on multiple machines then you do need to pay for and use multiple licenses to stay in compliance.

Yes, there is the restriction that the same email address cannot be assigned to more than 1 license.  Otherwise it confuses the licensing system doesn't know which of your multiple subscriptions you want to use for that machine.  So the solution is assign a different email, for example a secondary work or personal email address.

Best regards,
Armeen

If you have a second email address, you could have two users that just happen to have the same first and last name.

Don't login to the Appeon Website. Instead, pretend that you are a new user & register the 2nd email address as a new website user (ie: Chris2@Appeon.com).

Yes, thanks for confirming as that what's I thought, that you can't currently be logged into the Appeon website when you try to create the additional user account with the new e-mail address. Thanks Chris!
