Hi,

Is TortoiseSVN 1.6.16 compatible with PB2017 R2?

We use TortoiseSVN 1.6.16.  We are on Win 7/32 bit for now and will eventually be going to Win 10 but for now we will need to migrate to PB2017 R2 and EBF01 on Win 7.

Many thanks!

Pauline

Hi Pauline;

1) FYI:  PB 2017 R2 is a new release and supersedes PB 2017 and is not related to MR01. MR01 can only be applied to PB 2017 GA (aka the version Appeon released in June, 2017).

2)  I am using the Tortoise SVN software on my system. The version I am currently using is TortoiseSVN 1.9.7, Build 27907 - 64 Bit here on my W10 based systems. This version of Tortoise implements SVN version release 1.9.7. The SVN level that PB R2 supports currently is: Version 1.9.7 for the client and 1.9.6 for the server. So in order for your systems to use the native SVN SCM feature, you would need to upgrade your Tortoise SCM software.

   Note: You can still use the Tortoise Proxy utility with PB 2017 R2 that implements the SCCAPI standard and connect to Tortoise 1.6.16 via PB2017R2's SCCAPI that was first introduced way back in PB v8.0. That is probably how you are using Tortoise with your current older Sybase/SAP PB version(s).

Hi Chris,

Thanks so much for your reply.  I'm glad to hear that we can still use our current version of Tortoise for now.

Regarding #1, we've already converted to PB2017 build 1681 so now it is just a matter of upgrading to PB2017 R2 and EBF01?

Hi Pauline;

     Yes, EBF #1 for R2 fixes a bug in the SQL/DW Painter's interaction. Please apply that right after the R2 installation.
