Thank you for your reply.

I just want the text Windows XP is still on the OS support list of my App and do not want to loss my customers either.

I noticed Powerbuilder 2022 was built with Visual Studio 2015. There is platform toolset v140_xp option in Visual Studio project setting that perhaps could make Powerbuilder support Windows XP.

By the way, my App runs well in Windows XP that built with Powerbuilder 12.5.2, and runs well in Windows 7 that built with the lastest Powerbuilder 2022. The backend database is Access with jet engine.

And you are right: PB 12.5.2 was offering support for Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and Vista with Service Pack 2.

You are correct Andreas ... PB 2022 is using VC++ 2019. 2022 R2 will be using VC++ 2022.

It seems there is no hope of supporting XP afterwards since only VC++ 2017 or earlier can make it.

Hi.

Can you run PB 2022 built application in XP? The answer is no... Even PB 12.x had issues with XP. And, generally, no one will tell you that it is a good idea to continue working with Windows XP in year 2023. The last version of PB I used to deploy applications in XP was 11.5...

You should have in mind that this is not only a PB thing. You will face similar problems while choosing your backend database, as most databases have dropped support for xp. So you will have to use older versions of databases - clients which also is not a good idea.

Finally, even if you were able to run an application in windows xp you could not have support. Actually appeon provides support for PB 2022 only in windows 8.1, 10 & 11 (and runtime support for servers 2012R2, 2016, 2019 & 2022).

Andreas.
