We just had a couple users run a malwarebytes scan and the uninstall.exe of the installable cloud app is showing as a possible threat.   we are just worried that some of our user base will run into this same issue.  has anyone else had this and is there anything we can do to prevent the uninstall.exe from appearing on the malwarebytes threat scan.

Thanks
Jim Beck

Hi Jim,

Please report the false positive to Malwarebytes so they can improve their product: https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038524154-Report-a-false-positive-to-Malwarebytes-Support

You can do quick Google search and see Malwarebytes is notorious for false positives and erratic behavior: https://www.google.com/search?q=malwarebytes+false+positive+site:www.reddit.com&sxsrf=AOaemvKheZryIls7ZuUqvRhjufRei6hI2Q:1640102790902&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi6_PuBo_X0AhUICTQIHXedBYEQrQIoBHoECDkQBQ&biw=1398&bih=770&dpr=2

Francisco,

the Uninstall.exe has a digital signature from Appeon Inc. on ‎Thursday, ‎April ‎1, ‎2021 8:33:24 AM by DigiCert.   We also sign our executables with a goDaddy certificate.   our Cloud Executable and the Uninstall.exe are in the same folder and only the uninstall.exe signed by Appeon is showing up on the Malwarebytes Thread Scan.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi James,

Are your binaries signed? That usually solves the issue
