InfoMaker 2022 Build 1892

One of our customers is running our PB app and InfoMaker using Remote Desktop. If they attempt to generate an executable report in InfoMaker, they get this message: "One or more of the files in your Library could not be opened for write".

If someone logs into the server and runs InfoMaker as Admin, it generates without issue.

Is there some way to get around this other than having them run InfoMaker on their local desktop?

The style libraries are under C:\Program Files (x86) so I asked them to copy them to a different folder and update the Style Library List.

That's the problem. You need admin rights to write to Program Files directory.

Have they tried reading/writing the files to their roaming folder?  It seems to me either the PBLs or the .EXE being generated is in area of the disk they don't have rights to.  But surely with a non-admin account they could write to somewhere on the disk.  Roaming folder usually is best place.... that's where by default we read/write PowerServer client files so it plays nice with security standards.

Hi Roland;

  Yes, this sounds like a server write permissions issue. IM was always designed to run on the local machine. The IM installation requirements even says that the IDE is not supported on Windows "Server" O/S versions.

Regards ... Chris.
