I see that PDF user guides for InfoMaker at https://www.appeon.com/developers/library/product-manuals-for-im up to 2019 R2 only. Is there an ETA for a user guide for 2022?

Thanks!

Hi Paul;

  The IM product itself comes with an R2 help. The online manuals are up to 2022 R2 ...

https://docs.appeon.com/im2022r2/imwhatsnew/index.html

   I'm not sure why the PDF counterpart is not there. I'll ping the documentation team for an answer.

Regards ... Chris

Hi Andreas;

Personally, I haven't used PDF manuals since way back when Sybase took over IM & PB from Powersoft. Can you tell me why you need them vs IM/PB's built-in Help & online manuals?

I think sometimes our users seem to want to have a file on their computer or something eaiser to print out.

I agree with Paul.

Also, since Sybase switched to chm help files, help is harder to use...

Pdf files are treated as books, so when reading a file as a book you do different things than when working with help files (or browsing the web). You can take notes, bookmark etc. And this is useful for those who want to learn by reading. Finally, I can have pdf even in my tablet or my mobile phone without needing to have an internet connection.

Another thing, microsoft stopped providing html help compiler (try to use the download link in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/desktop/htmlhelp/microsoft-html-help-1-4-sdk). So I guess that chm (while they are still useful) are or will soon become obsolete.

PDF isn't obsolete... And as I already mentioned it doesn't require an internet connection.

Andreas.
