Hi.

This seems to be a communication error. If it persist you should contact appeon. By the way, I remember someone else stating to have a similar issue and it turned out that his ip was banned.

1.  Check License Type for your email type in license management in Appeon Portal
2.  Try logging out in Appeon Portal
3.  Then try to run Powerbuilder with credentials.   Check whether it succeeds.

It works now. By the way, is there a backup way to launch PB without internet?

Except from standalone license? No.

What is strange is that appeon has a backup license server... In your case it seems both failed.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Can you help provide the following information for us to look into this problem? Thanks in advance!

  1. Can you help give us a more accurate timing of when did the problem happen and when did it work again?
  2. Was there any switch in your network before the problem happened?
  3. Did you adjust anything in your environment for the license to work?
  4. Please try to ping api.appeon.com and api2.appeon.com in the CMD window and take screenshots of the result for us.
  5. Check if you use any proxy in your machine or in your organization to access the Internet and provide a screenshot of your Proxy settings for us.

 

As for your question "is there a backup way to launch PB without internet?", do you mean sometimes you would lose connection to the internet?

Yes. The license mechanism provides an offline license option for users who need to use PB IDE without internet.

Also, with your online license, if you lose connection to the internet after you have already logged in, you can continue using the license for 5 days. According to the introduction to the online license type in the document below, "The validation occurs 5 days after the last successful login.".

Therefore, we are thinking this problem might be related to an unsuccessful log out, can you please try to manually sign out from Account Management in the top right corner instead of using the “Sign out on exit” feature and see if it has the same problem?
